18K gold is generally the most pure form of gold commonly used for luxurious wearable jewellery by international brand names. It gives a glistening look especially combined with diamonds.
Brilliant cut produces numerous facets and maximises light bouncing around the top of the diamond, giving it intense brightness. All natural diamonds are ethically sourced.
What is 18K Gold?
On the necklace, you will find a stamp with number 750 on it, meaning the necklace contains 75% pure gold, also known as 18K gold. The purest form of gold is 24K as it contains 100% pure gold. However, 24K gold is too soft, making it unsuitable for jewellery making. With alloyed metals added, 18K becomes an ideal material for jewellery making that contains the highest amount of pure gold.
What is the difference between yellow gold and white gold?
Both 18K yellow gold and 18K white gold contain 75% of pure gold. What makes their colour differ is the mixture of alloyed metals. Given a yellow gold and a white gold necklace of the same weight, both have same amount of pure gold!
